Summary of your role

The lead artist handles the technical and creative aspects of the art team, art processes, tools, estimations, task definitions, scheduling and of course art review in order to ensure that production objectives meet in terms of time and quality.

The lead also strongly collaborates and communicates with the product manager, game design lead, lead programmer, tech art and the producer to identify risks in the production pipeline. The lead takes the burden of artist management and protects the art team from counter-productivity.

High Level Responsibilities

• Lead the art team and ensure that the requirements are well defined and understood.
• Meet the quality standards for the assets created in the development of Casual Game by satisfying the demands of an aggressive delivery cadence
• Collaborate with the Art Director to align on a process for constant brainstorming & ideation that become actionable briefs for creative executions.
• Maintain a close working relationship with your direct manager, producers and other teams to ship the project.
• Work collaboratively with teams of artists, designers, quality controllers, and engineers to thrive the quality requirements.
• Raise the bar for the project by demanding high results from self and team members
• Can work to specification and to schedule in an existing pipeline, and equally work with minimal instruction if needed.
• Maintain effective informational flow to the team to ensure the team members are aligned with the project objectives.
• Provide regular review and feedback on the team’s work in a clear and constructive manner. Define & lead the feedback process (Internal and external)
• Actively participate in the constant improvement of work methods and pipelines.
• Share knowledge and recommend best practices in your area of operation.
• Encourage creativity and participation from all team members.
• Mentor and educate team members on new skills, methods and the work culture

Requirements for the candidate

• Passion for videogames and extensive knowledge of different game genres across all platforms
• Ability to communicate visually, and to identify and define visual design issues and solutions.
• Strong conceptual and visual design skills leading to thoughtful creative executions
• Excellent design skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting, composition, Anatomy and aesthetics
• Knowledge of Adobe suite, 3D softwares and Unity is essential.

• Ability to quickly adapt new tools and pipelines.

• Be key point of contact for tech artists, animators, and graphics engineers

• 8-10 yrs of industry experience
• 2-3 years of team lead experience
