Summary of your role

We are looking for Technical artists with specialization in VFX with an eye for visuals and art, and the ability to create strong visual effects. You will be the link between artistic and technical dimensions therefore it is vital that you have a good understanding of Unity’s programming workflows and terminologies, animation, rendering system, particle system, and shaders.

Your responsibility as a Technical Art VFX will be to create and maintain all effects for casual and mid-core genre games targeting the mobile platform. You will be working closely with other technical artists and client dev teams on the technical constraints and with the artists on implementation and optimization.

• 3 plus years of experience in developing 2D and 3D mobile games
• A strong portfolio of work which demonstrates a level of mastery in VFX art and design
• Experience in Unity game engine. 
• Programming efficiency – shaders, Unity animation and effects.
• Comfortable using computers tools and software to create visual effects

What you will be doing?

• Problem-solving – this is the most part of this role where you will partner with artists to deliver the best possible quality within the constraints of our technology.
• Gatekeeper of tech art budgets, pushing for top quality and framerate.
• Programming the systems driving the effects, such as animation and particle
• systems, and shaders.
• Optimize the visual effects to ensure we’re running at an acceptable frame rate on
• our targeted platforms
• Practively foresee problems and technical needs before they happen.

Pipelines and Processes

• Track and manage with programmers: Improvise tools and resolve bugs fixes.
• Educate the art team about technical constraints
• Work with the art team members to teach them “best practises” and techniques.
• Ensure they are using them effectively.
• Provide ongoing technical support regarding tools and engine to fellow FX members and artists

Qualifications

• Strong overall artistic ability in visual effects;
• Knowledge of shading languages (HLSL, GLSL);
• Knowledge of programming languages (C#);
• Good knowledge and understanding of the video game (current gen) development processes and techniques;
• Strong understanding of rendering budgets and other technical issues related to performance in real-time engines;
• Experience collaborating with programmers, product, design and client development teams
• Strong overall knowledge of DCC softwares like Photoshop, Maya, Houdini, After effects.
• Strong learning skills, ability to work under pressure, and as a team;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• You will be required to do a test showing your skills on VFX
• One live test to test your programming and problem-solving skills.
